This has been the creation of our wonderful Chair - Leanne Matthews who has created, sourced and arranged this wonderful addition for the children of St Mary's.
This is for any child who wants to borrow a book to read at home or share with their family. We wanted to give all our children a little extra chance to develop a love for reading for pleasure.
Thanks to a wonderful donation from Wickes - Rayleigh, we have been able to dismantle our old shed and in its place a fantastic new shed has taken its place. This will allow for all our storage of equipment and prizes for the fun and enrichment of the children of St Mary's.
Special thanks to Mark Cox, Ethan Cox and Tony Medcalf who gave up their Saturday to help us clear the old shed of its contents, take down the rotted shed and install our new shed. We just can’t thank them enough for their help in making this happen.
£1754.16 grant from Mister Gees Foundation. Spent on the new 'Year A' books required to support the revamped English curriculum.
The new books requested are split between 'Year A' and 'Year B', this is so the curriculum runs on a 2 year cycle to support the education of the children of St Mary's and their unique mixed year group classes.
£800 of the £1000 donated by Aviary Developments has been spent on purchasing new globes and atlases for the Geography curriculum.
£324.52 was spent on 2 new ‘20 MPH’ signs for outside the school. With vehicles speeding past our school on a daily basis, and with some drivers having been caught in excess of 70MPH, more than triple the speed limit, this was an essential aid to help make our school highly visable to passing drivers.
£406 , covering the cost of the coach to transport the children and staff to their Christmas Pantomime experience. This helped reduced the cost of the trip for the parents and carers of St Mary's pupils.
FOSMS has paid for lots of new outdoor play equipment that our children will be able to use at break times. This includes skipping ropes, quoits, outdoor Jenga, outdoor chess, rainbow jumpers and larger skipping ropes to encourage teamwork. This is all paid for using the money we have raised over Christmas and our movie night. So a big thank you for your support and I hope you’ll agree that this is a lovely way to use the money which will benefit the children greatly.
£53.04 was spent on Christmas crackers, cups, plates, napkins and tablecloths to make the children of St Mary’s School Christmas dinner festive and fun for all.
Join us in making a difference. Whether you want to donate, volunteer, or simply learn more, there are many ways to get involved and support our work.
