At St Mary’s we passionately believe that young children learn best through play and exploration. Wherever possible we offer children the opportunity to experience real life events that are linked to their learning. Every day our children get the opportunity to be an artist, writer, mathematician, scientist, designer or a storyteller to name but a few! These play-based experiences enable the children to consolidate their skills, knowledge and understanding and enable them to be become independent and resilient learners.
The pupils at St Mary’s C of E Primary School are at the heart of the school. Our six core Christian values which were chosen by the school community underpin the foundations of our curriculum which is bespoke to the needs of our pupils.
Here at St Mary's C of E Primary School, we are an inclusive school and offer all our children the opportunity to thrive and flourish by aspiring to offer the best possible quality of education, through our committed and dedicated team. We are a school with the community at its heart; we aim to ensure all our pupils are loved, nurtured and enabled to succeed, through an atmosphere of high expectation, in order to be ready and prepared for the world and jobs of tomorrow.
Collective Worship is the unique heartbeat of a Church school and is offered as part of a wider opportunity for pupils and adults to encounter faith by engaging in conversations about God, both as individuals and together. Each class has a Pupil Prayer Ambassador who supports the leadership of Collective Worship at St Mary’s C of E Primary School. This role is a very important and popular role, enabling pupils across school have a say in what happens during our times of worship and informs the staff Collective Worship Lead about what happens in classroom worship.
